# iPadOS on the Switch OLED

> iPadOS, booting natively on a Nintendo Switch OLED.

This project boots iPadOS 26 and 27 on a Nintendo Switch OLED, running directly on the console's hardware. The kernel
is Apple's XNU, built from the source Apple publishes, with drivers written for the Switch's chips. Everything above
the kernel is Apple's own iPadOS, which your Mac downloads from Apple while it builds the install image.

You start it from hekate, the way people boot Android or Linux on a Switch. It lives on its own partition of the SD
card, and the installer leaves the rest of the card alone.

> [!WARNING]
>
> **This is a hobby project with no support, and you take all the risk.**
>
> * There's no warranty. If you break your console, that's on you.
> * It runs on the Switch OLED only. No other model is supported, and none is planned.
> * Issues are disabled on GitHub. Don't message or email the author about it.
> * Pull requests are the only thing accepted, and there's no timeline for reviewing them.
